ABA announces partnership with ABOA

Aug. 12, 2018

Alberta Basketball Association and the Alberta Basketball Officials Association are pleased to announce a partnership agreement commencing Sept. 1, 2018.

ABA and ABOA will work together providing leadership and effective service delivery, while continuing to develop amateur basketball in the province.

“Alberta Basketball Association is excited to partner with the Alberta Basketball Officials Association to grow and develop the sport together,” says Paul Sir, ABA Executive Director.

“The officials are an integral part of the basketball community and it is essential that we collaborate to offer more opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in officiating as well as educate players, coaches and spectators on understanding and respecting their efforts.”

The partnership will see ABOA join as members of ABA.

“Our organization recognizes the value partnerships can bring for long-term growth and to meet the ever-increasing demands put on non-profit organizations,” ABOA President Michael Weiland says. “Creating synergies with a culture of open communication among all stakeholders in the province is essential for the sport.   We believe in a bright future for basketball and are pleased to team up with Alberta Basketball to help us achieve a positive game for all.”
