Alberta Basketball’s virtual Town Hall Meeting on June 16 featured insight and informative presentations from a panel of experts on how the Stage 2 Launch affects basketball in Alberta.
Discussion focused around the Return to Sport guidelines, addressed several topics and included a Q&A session with queries submitted by individuals from around the province. There were nearly 200 sign-ons as viewers tuned in to learn about getting back on the court.
“We thank everybody who took part in the Town Hall, and the outstanding presenters,” ABA Executive Director Paul Sir says. “We feel Alberta’s basketball community is gaining great understanding on what needs to be done as we all work together to move forward.”
Sir was part of the panel that also included Jef Bailey (ABA Programs and Events Director), Dr. Joseph Vayalumkal (MD, FRCPC - Section of Infectious Diseases), Marvin Dobish (Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation - Government of Alberta), Ron Yeung (Director of Domestic Development, Canada Basketball), Perry Stothart (President, Alberta Basketball Officials Association), and Steven Indig (BRec, LLB - Sport Law and Strategy Group). The Town Hall was moderated by Reagan Wood, Alberta Basketball’s Coach Education and Information Manager.
