2018 Fall Athlete Development

This Fall, Alberta Basketball will be offering the Jr. Academy (ages 12-13 years) and Sr. Academy (ages 14-18 years) Programs. The Jr. Academy and Sr. Academy Programs will be the on-court fall program for our elite level athletes, including any athletes selected for the TAS program. There will be no weekly scheduled on-court TAS sessions this fall.

Athletes selected  to the TAS program will have opportunities to work on their IPP (Individual Program Plan) through nutrition, strength training, and supplemental on-court training. TAS selections will be made by the end of August and selected athletes will coordinate a program with the Programs TAS Head Coaches, with input from Greg Francis and Mike McKay, Men’s and Women’s high performance managers with Canada Basketball.  It is important to note that TAS selections will be limited this year to those athletes identified by Canada Basketball’s National Team Program.

The Fall Jr. Academy and Sr. Academy sessions will begin the week of Sunday September 9th, and end on Monday November 5th. Please click on the link below for the program schedule in your area. The program end date will coincide with the beginning of the ASAA Season of Play for basketball. There will not be any sessions on the Thanksgiving weekend - October 7.
