2019 Western Canada Open ID Camp in Calgary
Alberta is home to the Western Canada Open ID Session and Assessment Camp, an integral part of Canada Basketball’s selection process for the national teams that will compete at FIBA U16 and U19 FIBA events. Select athletes from the Western Canada Assessment Camp are/may be invited to the Canada Basketball National Team Invitational Tryouts.

Edge School for Athletes
The Alberta Basketball Association (ABA), in partnership with the Edge School for Athletes and the University of Calgary, will host the Western Canada Open ID and Assessment Camps in Calgary from Friday, November 1, through Sunday, November 3. We are excited to open the opportunity for young athletes to work directly with Canada Basketball.
Female athletes to attend the Western Canada ID Camp:
- female athletes
- have a valid Canadian passport
- born in 2003 (U17), 2004 (U16) and 2005 (U15)
Male athletes to attend the Western Canada ID Camp:
- male athletes
- have a valid Canadian passport
- born in 2002 (U18), 2003 (U17) and 2004 (U16)

Athletes attending the Open ID Session on Friday may be invited to attend the full Western Canada Assessment Camp following on Saturday November 2nd. Athletes that are invited to the remainder of the camp will be informed during or following the open ID session on Friday, November 1st.

Invites to Saturday November 2nd Afternoon Session
Athletes attending the Open ID Session may be invited to attend the full Western Canada Assessment Camp on Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm. Athletes that are invited to the remainder of the camp will be informed during or following the morning Open ID session on Saturday, November 2nd.

There will be an athletic therapist on site at both venues.

Please print and sign the insurance form which is to be handed in at registration at the first training date.
