Overview
ABA is pleased to have our Canada Basketball Academy running again this year. Athletes will be invited to register for program tryouts via the ABA website for the Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge Boys locations.
Program session dates are posted above, all program participants will be invited to attend the Canada Basketball Western ID Session, please register using the ABA RAMP portal
Program Description
The Canada Basketball (CB) Academy is aligned with the Team Alberta Provincial Program, Canada Basketball's Cadet & Junior National Team programs as well as with Canada Basketball’s player development curriculum. There will be two age groups, 18U and 15U. These age groupings will coincide with the athlete identification process for the Canada Basketball 15U and 18U Boys and Girls National Championships. The CB Academy will focus on athletes skill development, decision making, and playing in the four phases of the game: offense, defense, offensive and defensive transition.
The 2022 CB Academy will be the first step in ABA’s pathway to identify athletes for the Team Alberta Program. The pathway will include participation in the CB Academy, Western Canada ID Camp, TAB Open ID and Assessment Camps.
Program format will be dependent upon each region and will be based on athlete participation.
All Academy participants will be invited to the 2022 Western ID Camps!
All grassroots or club athletes are welcome to attend the Open-ID Sessions in both the Boys and Girls Western ID Camps.
