General Information
Alberta Basketball is excited and proud to announce the return of ABA’s Youth Provincials, last hosted in 2020. The 2022 Youth Provincials will be hosted in Edmonton at the Saville Community Sports Centre (SCSC) and will be a celebration of youth and grassroots basketball in Alberta. YP22 will also celebrate our return to basketball - competition, teamwork, participation, having fun, and everything that makes our game special.
For 2022, there will be:

11U Boys and Girls - Born in 2011 and later
-
13U Boys and Girls - Born in 2009 & 2010
-
15U Boys and Girls - Born in 2007 & 2008
-
18U Boys and Girls - Born in 2004 - 2006 - Open 3X3 Format
New for 2022 will be the 18U - Open 3X3 division. This division will be open to any 18U participants that may have participated in Fall 2021 league play, Winter 2022 Zone Programming, or open declaration. Registration will be on a first-come basis.
The 18U 3X3 Divisions are open declarations to teams that may have participated during the Fall or Winter seasons of league play. All declarations will be considered on a first-in basis; registration will be closed once the division is full. Once closed, all new declarations will be added to a waitlist for available spots.

Additional information will be announced as we get closer to the event weekend.
We look forward to seeing all of the teams on the court again this March!
Participating teams will receive the following:

Minimum of 3 games played

11:00am game start times

Tournament T-shirt for all participating athletes

Player of the game shirts for each game

Medals and team photos for the top 3 division finishers, Saturday afternoon and evening

Athletic trainer on site
The tournament fee is
- 11U - 15U Boys and Girls $475
- 18U Boys & Girls $225
Deadline to declare is February 28th

Team Declaration Form Procedure
Click on the 2022 YP Team Declaration link above in the Important Document Section. The Alberta Basketball RAMP Registration page will then appear - login with your existing account info or create a new account.

Click on Tournament Registration

Then select the season from the drop down menu: 2021-22 ABA Membership Year

Then choose the Tournament from the drop down menu: 2022 Youth Provincials

Then choose a Division from the drop down menu : ie 11U Boys

Then enter your Team; either search for your team or create a new team if your team doesn’t exist and complete the Team Contact Information

Enter your Team Name and choose a Team Contact

Then Choose your package by clicking on the box next to 2022 Youth Provincial Declaration Fee

Press Continue

Under the Questions Section,

Select which Level you are declaring for; A or B
-
Advise which t-shirt sizes you require for your team (YL, AS,AM,AL,AXL)

Press Continue

Then under Team Roster please enter the following information:

For each of your Players enter: Jersey#, First Name, Last Name, Parents/Primary Email

Then for your Team Staff enter: First Name, Last Name, Cell Phone, Primary Email, Position (the Head Coach will be ABA’s primary contact - any updates will be communicated via the HC email)

Then press Continue

Then review and confirm the details

Under Payment Information please select the Payment Type from the drop down box: e transfer preferably. Please note the payment is not required until you receive an email (1st week of Mar 2022) confirming your team’s participation in the 2022 Youth Provincials.

Upon receipt of this confirmation email you will be instructed to send the $475 Declaration Fee to Alberta Basketball by e transfer to : info@basketballalberta.ca , using “basketball” as the password.

Then click on the Submit Registration button.

You will receive a confirmation email that your team has been registered.

Schedules
Division schedules will be posted on the Alberta Basketball website by March 4th 2022*, as a general draw.
Once final team confirmation has been determined, the schedules will be updated accordingly with team names prior to the tournament (by Tuesday, March 8th, 2022).
