ABA Alumni of the Week: Mrigendra Dhaliwal

University of Calgary men’s basketball guard Mrigendra Dhaliwal has been named Alberta Basketball Asociation (ABA) Alumni of the Week for the week of Jan. 19 to Jan. 25.

Dhaliwal scored a game-high 20 points to lead his team to victory over MacEwan University by a score of 80-69 at David Atkinson Gym in Edmonton on Jan. 17. The Calgary native also recorded 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.

Through 14 games this season, Dhaliwal ranks first on the Dinos in both points per game (13.0) and steals per game (1.9). He’s also averaging 2.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

Dhaliwal spent three years as a member of the Alberta provincial team, winning silver at the 2023 Canada Basketball 17U National Championships, bronze at the 2022 Canada Basketball 15U National Championships, and bronze at the 2024 Canada Basketball 17U National Championships.
