ABA Alumni of the Week: David Chijioke

Keyano College student-athlete David Chijioke has been named the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for March 16 – 22, 2026.

The second-year guard and his teammates competed at the 2026 CCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, which took place from March 18 to 21 in Nanaimo, B.C. The Huskies placed seventh after defeating St. Thomas University 77-74 in their final game, on March 20.

Chijioke came off the bench to score eight points in seven minutes in a narrow 70-67 loss to Camosun College on March 19.

In his first season as a member of the Huskies, Chijioke helped Keyano capture the ACAC men’s basketball championship.

A native of Fort McMurray, Chijioke won silver as a member of Alberta U17 Boys team at the 2023 Canada Basketball National Championships.
