Basketball Alberta's Northside Hoops program welcomed members of the Edmonton Stingers to a special 3-on-3 tournament at M.E. Lazerte school on Saturday, May 18.
There were 120 youth participating in the tournament, which focused on developing skills and translating them into the 3-on-3 style of play.
Edmonton Stingers Akeem Ellis and Narcisse Ambanza were on hand to support the participants, as well as take sign autographs and take pictures. The Stingers have begun their inaugural season in the CEBL, Canada's new professional basketball league.
Now in its fourth year, Northside Hoops provides youth an opportunity to participate and learn the fundamentals of the game of basketball in a positive community-oriented environment. The six-week program for 8-12 and 13-17 year-olds is coached by teachers, parents, students and community volunteers.
