Tryouts begin for Team Alberta 2026

More than 500 athletes turned out for 2025 Team Alberta regional open tryouts on Jan. 11 and Jan. 18.

Tryouts for Alberta’s 15U and 17U boys and girls teams took place at both the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton and Prolific Sports House in Calgary.

This marks the beginning of assembling the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) teams that will represent Alberta at the 2026 Canada Basketball National Championships.

ABA’s 17U Boys and 17U Girls are coming off gold medals at the 2025 Canada Summer Games, while its 15U Boys and 15U Girls are coming off bronze medals at the 2025 Canada Basketball National Championship.
