Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) held its very first Grow the Game camp at Yellowhead Koinonia Christian School in Edson on Jan. 4.
Thirty-three youth participated in the camp. coach Colton Black of the school partnered with ABA on the camp, and supporting coaches helped facilitate the day campers.
“The first Grow the Game camp was a huge success,” said Shayne Midford, Grow the Game program leader. “Athletes learned and were highly engaged throughout the camp. It was awesome to see the level of interest from the community of Edson and surrounding area. I look forward to seeing many of these young athletes on the hardwood this fall and moving forward.”
Grow the Game launched in late November and is available on a year-round basis, visiting schools and communities that request camps. Schools, clubs, and community recreation organizations wishing to obtain more information about Grow the Game and request a camp can contact Midford at camps@albertabasketball.ca.
