First Annual YYC Jam a huge success

Aug. 16, 2019

YYC Jam brought the soul of the game to the heart of the city.

The brand new 3x3 basketball tournament took place in downtown Calgary on August 10, with the team of Matt Ellis, Thomas Cooper, Mark Fernandes and Jason Scully capturing the championship. With that first place finish, the team qualifies to compete with teams from around the world at the FIBA 3x3 Xiongan Challenger, August 23-24 in China.

YYC Jam was the first outdoor 3x3 tournament held in Alberta in 10 years, and featured 10 courts of ongoing competition throughout the day, with boys and girls divisions ranging in age from U13 to U18, along with adult divisions.

All proceeds from participant registration went to The Balance Foundation, which has a mission to promote the positive effects that sport and education can have on at risk youth.
