EBOA announces 2024 award recipients

The Edmonton Basketball Officials Association (EBOA) announced its 2024 award recipients. Many officials were honoured for their work over the past year.

 “Congratulations to all the award recipients and thank you for your contributions to basketball in our province,” Alberta Basketball Association (AB)A executive director Dave Drabiuk.

Below is a full list of honourees:

Moe Allen Award - Rookie of the Year:

Vlad Eshenko Award - Most Improved Junior Official (NOCP Level 1):

  • Ernie Buton
  • Nathan Sermet
  • Phillip Vandenvalk
  • Chris Cruz

Ed Tomick Award - Most Improved Intermediate Official (NOCP Level 2):

  • Katia Davi-Digui
  • Caitlyn Murray
  • Greg Buffie

Bob Sexsmith Award - Most Improved Senior Official (NOCP Level 3/4):

  • Mitchell Normand

Ron Bercov Award - Mentorship of Officials

  • Heather Rootsaert

Herb McLachlin Award - Development of Officials Award

Howie Farrell Award - "Love O’ the Game"
