Karl Tilleman is part of the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame's Class of 2024, which was announced by Canada Basketball on Feb. 21, 2025. He will be inducted alongside Allison McNeill, Carol Turney-Loos and the 1979 FIBA Women's World Championship Team.

A standout athlete at Sir Winston Churchill High School in Calgary, Tilleman went on to dominate Canadian university basketball over five seasons atthe University of Calgary from 1979 to 1984. He was named national Player of the Year in 1982 and 1983, led Canada West in scoring from 1981 to 1983, and finished his university career as Calgary's all-time leading scorer with 2,050 points in 79 games.
Internationally, Tilleman represented Canada at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics and won gold at the 1983 World University Games in Edmonton. He was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the 1984 NBA Draft.
In 2007, Tilleman was voted the University of Calgary’s greatest athlete of all time. He is also a member of the University of Calgary Athletic Hall of Fame, Alberta Sports Hall of Fame and Canada West Hall of Fame.
