Alberta Basketball Association alumnus Yvonne Ejim of the Gonzaga Bulldogs has been named the West Coast Conference (WCC) Women's Basketball Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year.
Ejim, a senior forward from Calgary, was also named to the All-WCC First Team for a third consecutive year. The WCC announced its annual awards and honours for 2024-25 on March 4.

This season saw Ejim lead the WCC in points (642), points per game (20.7), rebounds (270), rebounds per game (8.7), field goals (244), and double-doubles (11). She was also second in the conference in field goal percentage (.527) and free throws made (143), and eighth in the league in blocks per game (1.0).
Before her standout career at Gonzaga, Ejim spent several years involved with ABA provincial team programming. She represented her province at the 2017 Canada Summer Games and at the Canada Basketball National Championships in 2016, 2018 and 2019.
