May. 08, 2025

Albertans Yvonne Ejim (Calgary), Delaney Gibb (Raymond), and Phillipina Kyei (Calgary) are among 25 athletes who have formally committed to Canada Basketball’s Senior Women’s National Team program through the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.

Canada Basketball unveiled the list of athletes on May 5. The three Albertans represent the most athletes from any province outside of Ontario.

Canada’s Senior Women’s National Team will compete this summer at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup. The top six teams will qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament, which takes place next March.

Ejim, Gibb and Kyei have all been part of Alberta Basketball’s provincial team programming.
