Team Edmonton wins Fountask Nanjing 3x3 Challenger!

Team Edmonton - featuring a lineup of Alberta Basketball alums Jordan Baker, Jordan Jensen-Whyte, Kyle Landry and Steve Sir - won the FIBA 3x3 Fountask Nanjing Challenger, which took place April 20 and 21 in China.

On April 20, Edmonton qualified for the quarterfinals after going 1-1 in Pool A games, beating Chengdu 21-9 and losing to Amsterdam 21-19.

On April 21, Team Edmonton reeled off three consecutive wins; 22-17 over Gagarin in the quarterfinal, 19-14 against Beijing South in the semi-final, and 19-16 over Princeton in the championship game.

Sir was named MVP of the event, which was the second Challenger of the 2019 FIBA 3x3 season. The first was April 13-14 in Wuxi, China, where Team Edmonton reached the semi-finals and Sir won the shootout competition.
