Alberta Basketball alumni in the CEBL for inaguaral season

May. 10, 2019

There are six Alberta Basketball provincial team alumni who are part of a Canadian Elite Basketball League team for the start of the CEBL’s inaugural season.

The CEBL had its first games on Thursday, May 9, with the Saskatoon Rattlers hosting the Niagara River Lions and the Guelph Nighthawks visiting the Fraser Valley Bandits.

The Edmonton Stingers play the first game in franchise history on Friday, May 10, when they welcome Niagara to the Edmonton Expo Centre. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. and tickets are available at www.thestingers.ca.

“It is fantastic to have professional basketball in Edmonton,” says Paul Sir, Alberta Basketball’s executive director. “I invite our fans to embrace the Stingers and make them our team. Hats off to the CEBL and their efforts to bring a true national league to Canadians.”
