ABA alum Yvonne Ejim wins WCC Player of the Week award for third time this season

On Tuesday (Feb. 28), Team Alberta alumna Yvonne Ejim of the Gonzaga Bulldogs was named the West Coast Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.

It was the third such honour of the 2022-23 for the Calgary native, who was also named Player of the Week on Nov. 14 and Nov. 21.

A junior forward, Ejim recorded back-to-back double-doubles in Gonzaga victories over San Diego on Feb. 23 and Brigham Young on Feb. 25. For the two games, Ejim averaged 15.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 65.0% from the field.

Ejim's performances helped Gonzaga finish its regular season schedule with a 17-1 record, first place in the WCC.
