Jan. 30, 2024

An amazing senior year continues for ABA (Alberta Basketball Association) alumnae Yvonne Ejim of the Gonzaga Bulldogs, who on Monday (Jan. 29) was named West Coast Conference (WCC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the fifth time this season. The Calgary native had two double-doubles last week as Gonzaga extended its win streak to fourteen consecutive games in NCAA Division 1 play.

In an 82-45 victory at Santa Clara on Thursday (Jan. 25), Ejim scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Shen then recorded 19 points, 13 boards and 5 assists in a 73-54 road win over San Francisco on Sunday (Jan. 28).

For the 2023-24 season, Ejim is averaging 20.5 points and 8.2 rebounds while shooting 65.1% from the field.

Ejim was previously named WCC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Nov. 27, Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 26.

Congratulations, Yvonne!
