Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) alumnae Yvonne Ejim of the Gonzaga Bulldogs has been named West Coast Conference (WCC) Player of the Year for the second year in a row.
The senior forward who hails from Calgary was also named WCC Defensive Player of the Year and selected All-WCC First Team. The WCC announced its 2023-24 conference honours on Tuesday (March 5).

In 29 games this season, Ejim has averaged 20.0 points and 8.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks. As of Monday (March 4), she ranked sixth in NCAA Division 1 women’s basketball with a field goal percentage of 62.8%.
Led by Ejim, Gonzaga finished first in the WCC regular season standings. The Bulldogs will play in the WCC Tournament semi-final on March 11 at 1 p.m. MT.
Ejim was part of Team Alberta at the Basketball Canada National Championships in 2016 (U15), 2018 and 2019 (U17), and represented her province at the 2017 Canada Summer Games.
