EYBA's 7U/9U Tournament emphasizes fun

On Saturday (March 16), the Edmonton Youth Basketball Association (EYBA) held its 14th annual 7U/9U tournament, hosting 55 teams from its associations for a fun day of hoops at the EYBA Centre and the Saville Community Sports Centre.

Players ranged in age from six to eight, and each team took part three thirty-minute games. Scores were not kept, with the emphasis being on participation and fun.

“Everyone received medals and had a ton of fun,” said Taylor Anstice, EYBA Executive Director.

The EYBA’s associations include Beaumont North Basketball, Leduc & County Basketball, Morinville Youth Basketball, Northeast Edmonton Basketball, Northwest Edmonton Basketball, Parkland Pride Youth Basketball, Southeast Edmonton Basketball, Southwest Edmonton Basketball, St. Albert Youth Basketball, Strathcona County Basketball and the Wetaskiwin Basketball Club.
