WNBA Canada Game in Edmonton rescheduled to May 4

Apr. 19, 2024

It has been announced by the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) that the 2024 WNBA Canada Game at Rogers Place in Edmonton has been rescheduled to May 4 at 7:30 p.m.

The game, which features the Los Angeles Sparks and Seattle Storm, as originally scheduled for May 5. It has been rescheduled due to the Edmonton Oilers’’ Stanley Cup Playoffs schedule.

This is just the second ever WNBA game to be played in Canada, following the inaugural WNBA Canada Game last year, which saw the Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx entertain a sold-out crowd at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

The game will be a homecoming of sorts for Sparks guard Kia Nurse, who has attended many training camps and played several games in Edmonton as a member of the Canadian Senior Women’s National Team. Nurse, a one-time WNBA All-Star, will be competing in her third Olympics for Canada this summer.
