Albertans named to national women's 3x3 team

May. 01, 2024

On April 29, Canada Basketball announced the roster for the Canadian Women’s 3x3 National Team that will compete at the FIBA 3x3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Utsunomiya, Japan, and run from May 3 to 5.

The five-player roster includes a trio of Albertans, all who during their youth were part of Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) provincial team programming: Kacie Bosch of Lethbridge, and Edmonton’s Katherine Plouffe and Michelle Plouffe. Canada’s roster also includes Paige Crozon and Cassandra Brown.

Canada will face Kenya (12:40 a.m. MT on May 3), Netherlands (12:25 a.m. MT on May 4), and Australia (3:55 a.m. MT on May 4) in Pool B.  The top two teams in each Pool A and Pool B advance to the semifinals, with the semifinal winners then facing off for a spot in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

All games will be streamed live online at cbcsports.ca and FIBA 3x3 YouTube.
