Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) alumni Steve Sir led Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy to capture the FIBA 3x3 Zhijiang Challenger 2024, which took place last weekend (May 25 and 26) in China.

Sir, who hails from Edmonton, was named MVP after Ulaanbaatar defeated Lausanne 22-13 in the final on May 26. Ulaanbaatar had previously beaten Zavkhan SAINSCORE 22-12 in the semi-final and Wuxi WenLv 22-18 in the quarter-final, after finishing first in Pool C with a 2-0 record.
By virtue of its victory, Ulaanbaatar clinches a berth in the FIBA 3x3 Edmonton Masters 2024, which take place in Sir’s hometown on July 6 and 7 in Edmonton’s Ice District.
