Calgarians Yvonne Ejim and Phillipina Kyei are among the 15 players that will be attending Canada Basketball’s Senior Women’s National Team (SWNT) training camp in Victoria from June 16-26.

The training camp will include an exhibition game against Portugal’s women’s national team on June 26 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Ejim and Kyei both played for Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) provincial teams before going on to play NCAA Division 1 basketball. Ejim currently plays for the Gonzaga Bulldogs while Kyei plays for the Oregon Ducks.

The SWNT is preparing for the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, which take place in Paris from July 26 to Aug. 11. Ejim was part of the SWNT roster that qualified for the Olympics by finishing third at the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2024 in Sopron, Hungary in February.

Canada was drawn into Group B for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and will face hosts France (July 29, 9:15 a.m. MT), Australia (Aug. 1, 5:30 a.m. MT) and Nigeria (Aug. 4, 5:30 a.m. MT).
