Inaugural ABA Club Invitational coming to Lethbridge
Lethbridge is set to host the inaugural Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Club Invitational.
The historic first-of-its-kind tournament will see top girls and boys 13U and 15U club basketball teams from across Alberta battle for provincial supremacy. Games are taking place July 19-21 at the University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge Polytechnic.
“We’re beyond excited to be bringing the very first ABA Club Invitational to Lethbridge,” says Dave Drabiuk, ABA Executive Director. “This is the beginning an annual tradition, and the hoops hotbed of Southern Alberta is a perfect place to start.”
Participating clubs are based on ABA Member in Good Standing status. The final tournament draw will be released next week.
“The ABA Club Invitational is an opportunity for clubs in Alberta to compete at the highest levels in a safe environment,” says Drabiuk. “It will showcase the tremendous young talent in our province, many who will go on to play ACAC, U Sports, and even NCAA basketball.”
