Three Albertans are among the 24 athletes that the Canadian Paralympic Committee and Wheelchair Basketball Canada have nominated to the men’s and women’s teams set to represent Canada in wheelchair basketball at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Canada’s men’s wheelchair basketball team includes Reed De’Aeth of Sherwood Park and Calgary’s Chad Jassman, while the Canadian women’s wheelchair basketball squad includes Legal native Arinn Young.

The wheelchair basketball tournaments at the 2024 Paralympic Games will take place Aug. 29 - Sept. 8 at Bercy Arena in Paris. Canada’s women’s wheelchair basketball team will begin competition on Aug. 29 with a game against China, while the Canadian men’s wheelchair basketball team opens play against France on Aug. 30.
