Ross Norton headed to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame

Nov. 25, 2024

Wheelchair basketball athlete and coach Ross Norton is headed to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.

The Calgary native is among the class of 2025 that will be enshrined during the induction ceremony at the Red Deer Resort & Casino on June 7.

Norton represented Canada the Summer Paralympics, winning gold twice (2000, 2004) and silver once (2008) in men’s wheelchair basketball. Norton also helped the Alberta Northern Lights become the first Canadian team to win the NWBA championship.

Since transitioning to coaching, Norton has led teams to success nationally and continues to advocate for para sports development in Alberta.

Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) congratulates Ross Norton on this tremendous and well-deserved honour.
