Countdown to the madness!

The Alberta Basketball 2020 Youth Provincials Championships is bringing “Alberta Madness” to Edmonton, where teams from across the province and the northern territories place will gather March 6 and the 7 for this annual slice of hoops heaven.

The Saville Community Sports Centre will serve as the hub for the event, which will feature around 140 teams in nearly 20 divisions, for boys and girls, spanning the U11 to U18 age groups.

Teams from as far as Cambridge Bay, Nunavut, will be making a special trip to participate at Youth Provincials, as Alberta Basketball is thrilled to welcome our friends from the north for a second consecutive year.

The madness begins at 9:30 a.m. on March 6 with the opening ceremonies featuring special guest Tamara Tatham. An all-time great in Canadian women’s basketball, Tatham is a two-time Olympian, who was named MVP of the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship in Edmonton, and has recently worked on the coaching staffs for Raptors 905 of the NBA G-League and the University of Toronto women’s team.
