Edmonton's top high school players put on a show as YEG Showcase returns

Apr. 16, 2022

For the first time in three years, the annual celebration of Edmonton’s top high school basketball players returned to the court, on April 7 when NAIT hosted the 2022 YEG Showcase presented by Alberta Basketball.

Team Kuperus won the boys’ all-star game, with the MVP award going to Patrick Fisher of Salisbury Composite High School. The girls’ all-star game was won by Team Bennett, with St. Albert Catholic’s Maya Flindall receiving MVP honours.

In the individual skills competitions, Harry Ainlay’s Isaiah Torrington won the dunk contest, while Jordyn Bennett of Salisbury Composite was victorious in the three-point shootout.

This was the fourth edition of the Showcase, and first since 2019. Congratulations to all the coaches and players who were selected to participate and thank you to everyone who is involved with high school basketball in metro Edmonton.
