Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) has announced the 15-player roster for its 15U Girls provincial team that will compete this summer at the 2024 Canada Basketball National Championships.
"I am very excited about the group of athletes we have for this year on the 15U team,” says Marissa Lindquist. “We have a few athletes returning from last year who will be looked upon to fill bigger roles, along with a solid group of first-year athletes who will come in and have a positive impact on the team. I’m looking forward to getting started training and preparing for Nationals."
Twelve players from the roster will travel to compete at the Canada Basketball 15U Women’s Tournament, Aug. 5-10 at Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John’s, NL. Three players will serve as alternates, who will train with the team as it prepares for the tournament.
The roster includes four athletes who bring experience from playing at last year’s National Championships: Pippa Gibb (Hometown: Raymond), Ailey Marshall (Calgary), Emerald Nnani (Edmonton) and Avery Zulak (Calgary). Additionally, Juliana de Walle (Calgary) served as an alternate for the 2023 ABA 15U Girls team.
Alberta has finished in the Top 5 at seven of the last eight National Championships for 15U Women. Last summer, Alberta’s 15U Girls Team went 4-1 at Nationals in Calgary.
