St. Mary’s University men’s basketball student-athlete Pelumi Ajayi has been named the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for Feb. 24 - March 2.
The fourth-year forward helped the Lightning capture bronze at the 2025 ACAC men’s basketball championships, hosted by Briercrest College in Caronport, Sask., last week. Over three games, Ajayi averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals while shooting 58.0% from the field.

Ajayi was named to the ACAC 2024-25 men’s basketball All-Conference South Second Team after averaging 17.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.1 blocks while shooting 47.8% from the field in 21 regular season games.
A Calgary product, Ajayi won silver in male basketball as a member of Team Alberta at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg.
