ABA Alumni of the Week: Yvonne Ejim

Mar. 31, 2025

Gonzaga University women’s basketball student-athlete Yvonne Ejim has been named the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for March 24-30.

While Gonzaga lost the WBIT Quarterfinal by a score of 82-77 (OT) to Minnesota on March 27, Ejim delivered a historic performance in the final game of her NCAA Division 1 career.

The senior forward racked up 27 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Ejim shot 12-for-18 from the field, including 1-of-2 from three-point range, and made two of three free-throw attempts.

In the process, Ejim set the Gonzaga women’s basketball single-season scoring record, finishing 2024-25 with 726 points. The record had been previously held by now-WNBA superstar Courtney Vandersloot, who scored 711 points in 2010-11.

A native of Calgary, Ejim spent four years playing for Team Alberta. She represented her province at the 15U Girls Canada Basketball National Championships in 2016, the Canada Summer Games in 2017, and the 17U Girls Canada Basketball National Championships in 2018 and 2019.
