May. 26, 2025

Steve Sir has been named the Alberta Basketball Association (ABA) Alumni of the Week for May 19 - 25, 2025.

Sir helped Canada’s 3x3 Men’s National Team secured one of three available berths at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifier, which took place on May 24 and 25 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

With a 21-12 victory over Rwanda on May 25, Canada qualified for the FIBA 3x3 World Cup for the first time since 2018. Canada also defeated Great Britian 21-14 and beat Azerbaijan 22-7 on May 24.

Sir lead Team Canada with 22 points over three games, and ranked second among all players with a points per game average of 7.3. He had his highest-scoring game against Azerbaijan, racking up 10 points in the victory.
